Who Gets The Gout? Me, That’s Who

It all started last Thursday or so. After a few days of my elbow hurting me, it was just starting to get better. Then it was my knee that started aching. Intersting, I thought. By Saturday night, it was very painful to move on it. By Sunday morning, I was limping like I should be ringing a bell at Notre Dame. Off to the Garden City Treatment center. They X-Rayed it, took some blood work, including a Lyme test, and sent me on my way, with the same prescription for anti-inflamatories they had me on for my elbow. I stayed out of work the entire week, aching, limping, pills doing seemlingly nothing. I cranked it up a notch and went to my “real” Doctor on Wednesday. He sent me to a specialist, took some more blood and even some fluid from my knee. Pleasant.
A day later, I have Gout. Pseudogout, actually. ( Not “sudo gout” like I initially thought, any *nix geeks reading? ). Wiki Article. When I asked the Dr how I might get this, he said “You wake up.” I take that to mean, there was nothing I couldve done to avoid such a fate. I am still layed up, and probably will be for the weekend, again. Drop by the house if you are going to be in the greater Narragansett Area.

So Long Cranston, and Thanks for All the Fish

I have been moved out of Cranston since Monday. I must say, it is pretty nice to be out of the house again. I love the Rents, how can you not? They’re so cute with their trips to the Casinos and dinners and all that, it was almost tough to leave… almost.
I am now in South County, RI. Being a truly RI location, as there is no such county as the County of South in the state. I’m in Narragansett, RI a block from Scarborough and 1/2 a mile to Narragansett Beach. The commute is an unheard of 40 mins to Coventry, but again, a small price to pay to live across the street from the ocean in a nice fully furnished cottage. The place is just big enough for me and Mikey Favic. And best of all, we have a porch. I am a big fan of the porch.
Plenty of friends down here already, bunch of college kids, this being URI’s playground and all that.
Looking forward to the whole adventure really.
