Have Wit, Will Travel

We keep on waiting - waiting on the world to change

Well that was an interesting 3 weeks. Some interesting things / people: Conspiracy driven tour giving aging hippies, movie theaters with dinner tables, killer rain storms, light show operating sheriffs, guitar hero, sno-cones, frisbee, blackberries, heat, humidity, jambalaya, mechanical bulls, teachers gone wild, Intern, hand grenades, traffic, tattoos, Calvin, cigars manufacturing districts, street brawls, Christy, Jessica, outside acoustic performances, Busch Gardens, crashing, Bonnie, communist granges, Dunkin Donuts, underage drinking parties, dress up parties, Maria, 17 people in a 15 passenger van, Alex, Ryan T, Bird, Nick, Fenway, Matty R, Cask ‘n Flagon, waterfalls, rainbows, loonies, toonies, odds, evens, blacks, reds, f#$*ing Detroit, Lee, House of Blues, Karen.

This tour definitely ranks up there on my Cool Trips List. It was so different than anything I had done before, relaxing, leisurely, busy, and very fun. It certainly made it difficult to return to my cubicle. I was told I was more than welcome back, and if it’s in the cards, maybe I’ll make my way back on the road. I personally think I would make a great tour manager, and I have been told as much by people “in the know”.

At the end of the tour, I found I had made some pretty good friends. And although I never went, I imagined it was like summer camp ending. You say your goodbyes, knowing that you might not see the people again. It’s amazing how quickly you form friendships.

It took me a full day to get touring out of my system. I found myself bored as hell in the middle of the afternoon, walking around my backyard, itching to load up, trying to get a 16 year old to spend $10 just to get the CD AND the TShirt.

I took more than a few pics, please check them out here.

Please do me a favor and check out the bands I had the pleasure of touring with. They are all great people who are very good at what they do.

RBF in Providence

One of my favorite bands in my history of enjoying music. In the past 10 years, I estimate I have seen Reel Big Fish 15-20 times. From WBRU Free Summer Concert Series to twice a year at The Webster in Hartford, to a failed attempt last year in Boston… I try to see this band whenever they are in the tri-State area ( RI, MA, CT ). I am most excited to find out they are coming to Providence in July. I dont know if you’ll be there, but I will be.
