I got this book for Christmas. I finished it in 3 days. It was 320 pages, a very quick read. Much like The DaVinci Code it has 1-4 pg chapters, so I think that makes the story really move, and makes reading fly by.

It was a pretty good story too. A mystery / comedy / Mafiaiso nostalgia biography. The main character was a retired mob hitman in San Diego. It could be considered a “mob” book, but it dealt with the West Coast mob, which is referred to in the book as the Mickey Mouse Mob. The main character, Frankie “The Machine” Machianno, is a surfer in San Diego who falls in with the mob. In the Winter of his life, one of his many bad deeds comes back to haunt him. He has to figure out who is trying to kill him, why, when and how he can outsmart them. Through his search, Frankie tells the reader his life story, which is a fairly violent one, and we begin to piece together the story.

Like I said, it was a pretty fast read, and definitely entertaining and fun to read.
