Another amazon.com used book. They’re like crack.

I read another book by this author, The Descent, and thought it was pretty good. So I thought Id give this one a shot. It is about a 2,000 year old plague let loose on Earth in modern day. The world’s scientists gather at Los Alamos to try to find a cure. Ethics get pushed aside as they start to clone people from 2,000 years ago, in an attempt to find an antibody locked in these clones’ DNA. The zinger, and it’s on the back of the book, is that they have apparently cloned Jesus Christ… Yes… Jesus H. Christ.

I couldnt put this book down. The story moved along pretty quick, and I found myself really wondering what was going to happen next. But I felt the Christ character wasnt used to his full advantage as a character, and he came out too late in the book. So I was a little disappointed with the ending and the use of this character, who I thought would play a much bigger role. But it was a good book, and does a good job of describing the collapse of civilization as the plague spreads from Europe to the rest of the world.
